11th Annual Night Out Against Crime Kick-Off Party PDF Print

Kenner, La. - Everyone is invited to attend the Eleventh Annual National Night Out Against Crime Kick-Off Party taking place on Sunday, August 1, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Laketown in Kenner.  Join your local law enforcement agencies in promoting crime prevention awareness and neighborhood unity in the fight against crime!

As always, there will be exciting entertainment including children’s activities, various displays and demonstrations by law enforcement professionals, live music by the Top Cats and great food - ALL FREE!  Representatives in every area of law enforcement will be there to talk with you.  This is an excellent opportunity for people considering a career in law enforcement to have their questions answered by experts in each field and to find out what their jobs are all about.  It is also a great time for citizens and officials to interact and to discuss important issues in our community.

The Kick-Off Party is a prelude to the 27th Annual National Night Out Against Crime, which Kenner will observe with the rest of the country on the evening of Tuesday, August 3, 2010.  Citizens can help us celebrate this event in a variety of ways, such as having a block party, a cookout, flashlight walks, or by sitting on their front porch with their lights on – a symbol that has become a tradition over the years.  Those organizing parties or gatherings on August 3 are encouraged to call the Kenner Police Department to have officers visit their neighborhoods.

More Information: Contact the KPD Community Relations Division at 712-2300 or to learn more about the kick-off party, to register a party for National Night Out or to start a Neighborhood Watch group.
