Louisiana is taking part in the national alcohol-impaired driving crackdown, Drunk Driving. Over the Limit. Under Arrest. The campaign is a large-scale, high visibility law enforcement effort to prevent tragic drunk driving crashes from August 21 through the Labor Day holiday.  

Alcohol-impaired driving is a deadly crime with serious consequences, and Louisiana law enforcement will be out in full force looking for drunk drivers.  Drunk driving can result in jail time, fines, ignition interlock, loss of driver’s license, higher insurance rates, and much personal embarrassment—but these consequences are nothing compared to losing your life or taking someone else’s.

Ever Thought You Ought to be on S.W.A.T.?

Special Olympics Louisiana will hold this unique event for the  first time in the New Orleans Metro Area to benefit the more than 12,000 athletes involved in the program. This fundraiser will feature a “once in a lifetime” opportunity to rappel down the 17-story Best Western Landmark Hotel. All participants will be treated like VIPs while their supporters cheer them on during their thrilling descent! To secure his or her place, each participant needs to raise a minimum of $1,000 for the chance to go…OVER THE EDGE!
